I am now caught up in Doctor Who

My overall impression of this season is similar to last season's. I love the characters but the plots are mostly weak.

I did love the new episode, though. Lots of surface level misdirects, but in retrospect it all makes sense. Also, a close watcher can pick up on subtle things.

Only The Doctor would be so excited about perfect toast. The Doctor is such a Human-aboo. Weeaboo, but for humans. Mostly British humans and ordinary British life, but humans in general. There was also the watch at the opening, and other time stuff, but it was the toast that tipped me off.

I didn't clock Ruth as The Doctor, but I immediately knew something doctory was up with her. Also I love her. I also like The Doctor being so free with mind wipes getting a taste of it herself.

The Captain Jack appearance was both great and also an unsatisfying tease. That had better pay off.

Yes! And yes!! It's so good. I also hope we get Captain Jack pay off, but it seems likely.
