So, we’re calling on you! Anyone with a willing heart and the ability to sew can help us protect our caregivers by sewing masks they can wear on the front lines of the fight against COVID-19.
We are starting with Western Washington, which is one of the hardest hit areas in the nation. The effort will grow from there over the coming days and weeks so eventually everyone can participate.
Please note: Volunteers must have the ability to sew and a sewing machine at home.

Full info is here. We'll likely start seeing this call here in Portland in a few days, so crafters who want to help help can keep a look out for the call.

And I am going to go have little cry over the fact we've already hit people being called on to make medical equipment in their own homes. (A legit call, not redditors thinking that they can 3-d print a respirator)

Edit - Skuttlebutt is that Portland will be starting this soon, and other areas already have their own programs like this one in Indiana that people are sharing for the mask making tutorial.

it is so sad (and horrible) that this is required. bless people who can step up (I don't have a sewing machine) and help keep people safe
