On trail on my must-do list is 109 miles long and has *checks notes* only one campground along the way. No dispersed camping on the trail or in the park.
I'm down, but I'm not out. Since the trail is along an abandoned railroad track that used to connect 5 towns, maybe I can stay there? No nice. No hotels, motels or airbnbs.
The nearest place to stay is an airbnb with no reviews and one picture:

The good news is that parts of the park borders state forest that does allow dispersed camping. I found out from asking on Oregonhikers.com. Some areas, there is just nothing. If I did the trail in sections, I'd have to do some in-and-outs that would be 48 miles in a single day. Yeah, this sounds like a logistical nightmare.
Isn't fun when you set out to plan things out sometimes it's easier than you expect and sometimes it's a giant mess?
I'm convinced there must be a way to hike this damn trail. Fortunately I've got some time to sort it out.
