They are pouring 20 million dollars into making the Snyder Cut a reality. I am not into the DC films so I don't have a dog in this race but I am very amused.
I think this film is a pandemic baby. Most filming is halted. Likely lots of big names worth millions are taking a pass on committing to filming, which messes up the production schedule for the next two years. Making new films is a mess right now, but they can still have a high profile project.
For those blissfully unaware, there is an alleged better cut of Justice League that makes more sense and does right by the characters. Folding Ideas has a good video on it.
