olivermoss | I am caught up in Legends of Tomorrow

The show is really consistently good. Well, it goes off the rails due to it's own internal logic being screwy sometimes, but in terms of themes and characters it's great. Even when I think the show is about to fall for a lazy trope, it turns out it's not.

I love John Constantine so much and it's amazing to see them get him so right. Also, they are doing storylines from his comics and lore. He wasn't just slapped in there, they are doing his stories as part of the plot.

In the minus category, I am really, really ready for them to turn a corner with Gary's character. The way they developed Mick Rory was amazing. I am a little sick of Gary and his role as eternal idiot who no one really wants to be around.

Losing Ray Palmer and his bro-ship with Nate was sad. I am not sure why he and Nora were written off. I assumed the actor was leaving for another project, but it seems to have come from the show-runner. I loved how it wasn't like a typical TV friendship, where trust is always thin, fragile and being broken for drama.

Keeping Maisie while getting rid of her character was an interesting twist. Charlie is great, and having Amaya around too long just didn't make sense. So, they wrote Amaya off and brought in a shapeshifter.
