I needed dental work done and pushed it out as far as possible hoping that ... yeah, hoping things would be better than they currently are. Anyway, I had a crown today because pushing it out further would risk the tooth. Due to something that happened when I was a kid, I make dentists rich.
The good news is that my dentist makes crowns on site so it's a one visit thing. The bad news is that his assistant accidentally shoved a dental tool up my nose.
Anyway, I get there and my phone was outside my wireless range for the first time in a while I didn't realize that AT&T was doing it's thing where it's forgotten I exist again. I'm grandfathered into an ancient unlimited data plan from back when people were switching from landlines to mobile. Due to how they worded the ads, they can't actually kick me off the plan. But, I think I am going to finally switch to Verizon this week. Starting this year, i keep these weird account problems, whether it's a glitch because I am one of a handful of ancient accounts hanging onto old pricing or whether it's deliberate I don't know, but I am done. It took me hours to unravel this last time because their system was sure I'd never had an account with them, much less one from ... I think 2002? 2003?
I'd used rideshare to get there, but couldn't use it to get back. Fortunately, my transit card is a plastic card because I refuse to use the 'virtual card' for a few reasons, this being one of them. I was able to bus home.
I am still so numb it's hard to eat or drink. I tried to use a straw and managed to squirt out the side of my mouth taking a sip.
So, it's been a fuck of a day. I managed all of it okay, partially due to my distrust of technology and relying on phones.
