It was cut by a professional hair person and everything.
It's weird being out and about again. Most of the places I can eat with my allergies have closed, so I need to find new places. I had a few swings and misses yesterday.
Also, training myself to not avoid the unmasked. It's awkward and it's gunna been awkward the next few times.
One thing I didn't anticipate is oblivious masked people standing in the middle of sidewalks staring at phones. Normally I'd just push by 'em if they are blocking while oblivious. Some sidewalks near here are super narrow so it's like ... do I try to get their attention from a few feet away? Dip onto the street to avoid them? I opted for walking in the street. This is like the one situation were I am not going to just power on through. I would outside of a pandemic, but I don't want to make people feel unsafe even if they are being self absorbed idiots.
I have an appointment for a migraine treatment in a week, only my second since this all started and I should have them monthly. Still no ear doc, tho. Someday, dammit. But, it makes sense that ENT docs would be particularly reluctant to resume in person. There is a difference between examining someone's hand and being all up in their ear, nose and throat.

Date: 2021-06-06 01:43 am (UTC)From:I've *definitely* felt real awkward with the unmasked, but it feels like just about everyone else has quit wearing them. I'm still wearing one when I'm in crowded stores, or if I'm interacting super close with kids, since they're less likely to have been vaxxed. But I'm actively trying to stop wanting to back the hell up from people without masks.
I hope the migraine treatment helps!

Date: 2021-06-06 03:04 am (UTC)From:A lot of people are still masked here and some stores still have the same policies as months ago, with required hand sanitizers and stuff.
It should help a lot! It's pretty reliable. Man, that's going to be a relief.

Date: 2021-06-07 01:24 am (UTC)From:Yeah, here I feel like it's almost a 50/50 split between people still masking and people who have totally stopped. Some stores still have employees masking, but the county went to "level clear" a few weeks ago, so there's no local mandate for it. Some places have gone to "NO MASK REQUIRED!" postings, and making a big deal out of it if you walk in while wearing one, ugh.
Migraines are miserable. I'm lucky that they're a rare event for me now (or at least the painful ones are... I get occasional symptoms that I think may be visual migraines that don't come with pain). I used to get them when stressed in college, and have had a handful since. Anything that can help lessen them is a huge relief.

Date: 2021-06-06 11:34 am (UTC)From:Here, vaccine rollout is continuing alongside mandatory mask wearing in shops which is a relief. Though what has never changed since the beginning of the pandemic are people not social distancing (only a few, but sufficient numbers to cause frustration when trying to walk past).
Hopefully, the end of this pandemic is in sight.
