I am going to need to present my vaccine card in the fall for something I am hoping to do, if it's still happening. I know that electronic copies of the card are supposed to be fine as subs for the actual card, but my phone screen is small and a lifetime of needing papers to get places has taught me that it's best to have the actual thing.

So, I've repurposed an old convention badge holder to keep it nice. If I keep it loose in my wallet it'll get worn and tattered. I decided on my Nerd HQ lanyard so it's highly visible in my bag and so I can firmly attach it to the inside of bags. Nothing else is going to have that logo. I don't want to lose it at an event.

Murderboat is doing a Belated Birthday event in September to celebrate all pandemic delayed birthdays. Mine is never celebrated anyway, but it's Murderboat so I am going. I'd decided a while back that is Murderboat even does another event I am going so, I am. Hopefully, it actually happens. Today they announced that vaccines will be required and that I'll need to present my card at the door. So, my card now has it's protective holder and lanyard for that and any other time I'm going to need it 🤦‍♂️

I think repurposing you con badge holder is a great idea. I may have to see if I've got something suitable, so I can copy that

One of my larger badge holders, a comic con one, worked perfectly. Gotta keep close track of this flimsy card.

That's a great idea! I might have to look for something similar. I don't think I have anything to repurpose for that, but it would be a good way to protect it. (Mine lives in my wallet/coin purse thing. It's big enough that it can stay flat, and I'm not worried about it getting beat up... I am worried about losing it, though.

Yeah, I don't even want to think about what would go into replacing a vaccine card.

I took my card in to get laminated (CDC approved) when the office supply chains were offering it for free; IDK if they still are. The worker offered to make a high quality copy and laminate that, which I took them up on, and I have the original stowed.

The copy doesn't fit in my wallet, or smaller pockets, but OTOH, it's pristine and has been readily accepted as proof. I keep it with my !phone. I suppose one could hole-punch it to put it directly on a string. Just an alternate solution to the one that seems to be working just fine for you.

Thanks! A digital copy is supposed to be fine, but I am worried it wont be in practice. I'd worry with a paper copy even if it's fine because event runners might now know that. There is this gap between how things should work and how they work in practice, which is why I am going to carry it at all. My iPhone picture should be sufficient for any purpose.
