The lens flare problem in that last one... I get that a lot due to Portland using LED lights now. I'ts also handheld so the focus is ungood, but yard swings are a very good subject for lensbaby shots.

I like the top shot, but the rest are like rough drafts. There are shots there... but that ain't it yet.

Are you familiar with Eric L. Busby's Byron Chronicles audiodrama? Byron's tower is in Portland and the first shot reminds me of that a lot.

No, I haven't eve heard of it. I might check it out.

It's dark fantasy series that's started as far back as 2006. David Ault voices Byron which is one of the reasons I love the show.

Huh, I'm surprised I've never heard of it. I was very into ADs for a while and have looked for good ones a number of times.

That first one is definitely my favorite! The distance shot of Portland is cool, too. And I like the starburst effect of the lights in the second image.

I can see what you mean about some having a "rough draft" feel. But I think that as you learn more about making the lens do what you want, you'll be able to get the shots you're aiming for.

Yeah, the more I work with the lens at night the more I'll be able to figure out what I can do. The shots I want may not be possible, but I want to push things and see what I can do.
