Rings of Power suddenly comes out soon. If I was more organized I'd have one of my old GimLeaf wips dusted off and ready to post. This will likely be one of the better times to post for the next few years and it will draw new eyes to my deliberately-buried-by-others fic from back in the day. But, I just don't have the time I think.
I am still writing two separate Steddie wips. The 6+1 may be wrapped up in the next few weeks... unless something else happens.
I have a bunch written and an outline...ish for a Halloween Steddie fic. If an event pops up that I can join, I've got something in my back pocket and ready to go. If not, then I'll do chaptered weekly posts during Halloween. I'd been pushing to get that to draft form before I got sick because I want an actual beta for it. I want to be able to finish it, put it away for a bit, come back to it, have a pre-reader or two... all the polish I am not giving my other projects right now. Sharkskin, Still Here and 6+1 chapters are going up as soon as done. I'd hoped to have to it in good enough shape to at least start putting beta feelers out two weeks ago, but oops.
I also have a Jooster Halloween fic that is based on some youtube videos about vintage/era Halloween traditions and parties that I really like. It's not done, but I want it out before Halloween as well. It could be very good, if I have time to get it booted out the door.
I still have A Leap Into The Dark and I am determined to get that done before new Leverage drops. I don't know when that will be, but it will probably be
So, my priority lists is:
* Steddie 6+1
* Steddie Halloween
* Jooster Halloween
* Sharkskin
* Leverage fic
* Still Here <- this is important to me but it is going to take however long it takes. I feel no time pressure.
I want 6+1 and Sharkskin done mostly to have things done and be more focused. I might slip in a GimLeaf fic, but honestly I doubt it. It's more me mildly noting 'now would be the time' and checking to see how much I care. Hopefully, in a few days I can make a post putting out feelers for a beta for Steddie Halloween. Yeah, if I want that ready to go by October 1st that isn't actually too far off suddenly.

Date: 2022-08-23 05:28 am (UTC)From:(That's what I'm doing with the Silent Hill fic - no one fucking reads SH fic, but IF someone was gonna, it'd maybe be in October? Spooky vibes?)
But I like your list! I'm glad you've got a Steddie Halloween fic, because that sounds perfect, tbh. I hope a worthwhile event comes around, but if not, I'm glad you've still got a thing.
You've got an ambitious number of projects (by which I mean trying to balance that many would make me cry), and I hope all of them go/keep going well!

Date: 2022-08-24 06:31 pm (UTC)From:Timing counts for a lot in terms of fic exposure... and I will always been terrible at it. But I also feel like Halloween and Christmas tend to be when a lot of people are more involved in fandom, partially due to when the major events run.
There is definitely interest for an event, but we'll have to see if anyone runs something.

I am the worst at making timing work for me when it comes to posting! Though that makes sense, that Halloween and Christmas would be big posting/reading seasons. There are a lot of events, there are holidays away from work/school, colder weather favors sitting inside and reading... (Whether that's a BIG difference or not, I can see it being true for some people, maybe.)
Hopefully someone does decide to get something organized! Seems like a missed opportunity for sure if no one does!

Date: 2022-08-25 06:05 am (UTC)From:Maybe my fandoms are overly influences by Yuletiders, but it always felt like fall/the holidays is when people are more into fandom, and there is an endless interest in Halloween and Christmas fic.

Date: 2022-08-26 03:14 am (UTC)From:Yeah, Yuletide may skew my impressions too, but I do think fall and the winter holidays are the times where there's a surge in fandom stuff. People seem to get more participatory, both as writers or artists and as readers seeking content.
