* peers at Amazon The site is having trouble loading and for any other site I'd assume it was increased site traffic for their Rings of Power premiere... but they are Amazon and like 40% of the web is hosted on their webservices. Are they throttling just for effect? WTF?
I forget why I was planning to give this a miss, outside of the high rate of on-set accidents. There was another specific reason... but oh well. I just remember I was planning to be very 'wait and see' and not be part of the rush for once.
I keep seeing things about how this is so expensive that it's going to effect the companies future as a streaming platform. I do like Amazon Prime because I am can easily switch channels on and off, but if Amazon takes a hit I'll be happy. So I am very agnostic about all of this.
* It's fall, which means I get to buy myself one bag of assorted Enjoy Life allergy friendly fun sized chocolate bars... though I really only want the ricemilk crisps.
* Since the air wasn't too bad I went out on a walk that was meant to be part photo walk and part errands. It was a hot mess. The Target I went to was full of empty shelves. I couldn't get anything I was after. Should I give up on Targets? In my area at least they never seem to be stocked... at least not the ones I go to. Also, no Halloween items?
Due to light rail announcements being timed wrong I got off at the wrong place. Due to staffing shortages there was not going to be another train for 45 minutes and the location was... interesting.
After all that, and navigating homeless camps to get back to main roads I went to pick up an Amazon package... but it wasn't there. So I walked home. The air was a bit worse than I'd like to be out in by the time I got home, but I didn't feel dizzy or sick from it. Parts of my legs are feeling it right now so I must have walked a few more miles that usual.
Also, I think I dress very non-descript on my walks and my camera and phone stayed in the bag... but a lot of people approached me for money. Unless you happen to be able to clock that my backpack is a camera bag I should not stand out. I was wearing a worn Midnight Wisps t shirt that is now 1 to 2 sizes too big for me, jeans and worn sketchers. But tonight a lot of people were drawn to me when I was trying to get away from Powell and 92nd. Maybe that just happens to everyone who passes through there at night.

Date: 2022-09-03 04:33 am (UTC)From:I'm sorry it sounds like the attempted errands and walk was a bit frustrating. It seems weird that your Targets have been so... empty. I haven't noticed that at the one near us, though I haven't been there in a while. But no Halloween stuff seems really weird!
Bleh, hopefully the air quality improves. Glad you made it through the mildly sketchy areas, but frustrating that the Amazon package wasn't where it was supposed to be.

I am glad for the long walk, despite the spiciness.
