I finally finished this game... sort of. In 2023 the game is too buggy to complete without going insane. Random crashes, interacts blinking in and out of existence, ect. I am very glad I played about 80% of it, and also very glad that I gave up and switched to watching a Let's Play. One thing I realized watching the Let's Play was that there was a texture showing where hidden messages where... and none of that rendered for me. Also, Steam thinks all my save files are corrupted.
But the good part, and why despite all this the game has overall good reviews on Steam, is that it's an urban fantasy detective noir game from Squeenix. It's got a nicely developed and very suitable art style. You can deviate from the main story to do side stories, and it turns out that the ghost residue keeping you in a small part of the city has it's own story you can uncover. A lot of things are way more cohesive and natural feeling than in a lot of smaller games like this. Also, the plot details are nicely breadcrumbed, nothing is painfully held back or overly obvious.
I first bought and started this game in 2017, and then spent an hour and half stubbornly trying to figure out the game's puzzle... not realizing that the game's interacts simply where not working. I didn't want to give up and check I guide, I wanted to solve it! In my defense the game I played right before it was The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. Anyway, game is finally complete and I can uninstall so Steam stop crying at me about data issues.
