This was astoundingly dumb of me...
There is a yard art I pass a lot. I know vaguely where it is, I tend to wind up walking past it on my way back from the Woodstock area. I know roughly where it is, and my plan was to beeline for the house and then have a rambly walk back. I wanted to hit that house tonight for reasons.
So first the reason, the gay skeleton house got their custom pride stickers in:
They were supposed to be there for June, but the box didn't arrive until today. Free stickers that good? I didn't know how long they'd last so I had to have one. Free sticker for pride, related to the Keep Portland Weird art scene? Could not miss out. I needed to make sure I got the shiny.
Second, the dumb:
I... decided to look up the exact cross street online. It was ten blocks off. I was like well, if it's not here on 46th I should check 47th? Ok, 45th? I wound up walking in circles. The wrong address lead me to walk down bits of sidewalk and in front of art projects I'd never seen? I usually can't find unwalked sidewalk in SE Portland if I try, this got me lost enough to find some! I should have double checked using google maps street view before heading out. My getting lost is entirely my fault.
I will have to go back and reshoot because it was so dark I used my cell phone for the flash but... mysterious key in the trees?
That will make for a good shot... on another day.
Sooo... good and bad? I got the shiny? I found things? I just also wound up walking in circles and feeling very lost, which is a problem because I lost my sense of direction in 2016 and haven't found it again?
