I am going to be on a train soon, so I should probably think more about packing. This is going to be a strange packing job because I am bringing two bags. I love one-bag travel, but it doesn't suit or give the usual benefits on this particular trip. I am bringing a giant hooded onesie so I am never in contact with bedding. That's going to take up enough space that I need a second bag. I am pretty sure that the Chicago problem was a one off, but I am still dealing with the dregs of it.

I am going to have a day down in San Fran between my trains. Not sure what I am going to do. I did all the touristy stuff before I even moved to the west coast. It's pretty much the queer capital of the US and I know people go there, or here, for that reason but... like, what would I do? The one historic site I'd want to see, Castro Camera, is closed. I do want to see the AIDS Memorial Grove, but that feels a bit heavy for being there for so short a time. I know that traveling to queer cities is like a whole thing, but I have no idea what would be good for me. It feels very for other people. I want there to be something on that front I'd want to do, I just have no idea what.

I'll probably wind up just picking a spot and walking around that part of the city for the day.

if there's nothing you particularly want to do/see, just wandering around sounds like a good way to spend time. maybe an area that offers something Portland doesn't really - like Chinatown? or just enjoy being somewhere new & different, and take cool pictures of what you see

Having a day there is not the point of the trip, just how I am making it happen. I just hope I find something that really interests me.
