I loved it. I almost feel the need to see it again before really talking about it, everything was so deliberate. Way deeper than I expected, dealing with how memories get distorted. Also the guy just not wanting to change after all?
Heavy, weary-feeling themes from a very young creator is interesting.
I like that is uses a furniture store as the entry point and focus, since the OG backrooms photo turned out to be a furniture store.
The pacing and cinematopgraphy was insane. Not hitting us with that really, really vast chunk of backrooms until right near the end? The pacing of how much they slowly showed the scale and weirdness bit by bit was amazing.
I don't have much to say, honestly I'd want to screepcap it to even talk about it more.
Just an amazing film. It super did not hit with some of the people I saw it with, though. I heard them trashing it in the bathroom afterwards. Horror is always individual, but even besides the horror there is so much going on in that film
