End of Year Stuff
Dec. 28th, 2022 01:48 pmI may yet get more done... but honestly I am so into organizing my projects right now it's unlikely.
* Photography: Recently I searched through my own photoposts for the year because I was looking for an image. There was a lot. I did a lot of photowalking, did a lot of very long walks, went the extra mile (or five) lots of times. Even if towards the end of the year a lot got in my way of getting fresh content, I used that time to organize or do other useful things. On my photo-a-day tumblr one of my posts just hit 5k reblogs. So, yeah, feeling good about this photography year overall. Also, from the skill share class I am doing I have a lot of specific ideas about things I want to do next year.
* Writing: I did not meet my set goal... but I also published a lot of chapters, wrote drawer fic for working through the Ursula K Le Guin book, have a lot of planned projects and fixed a lot of things that I had struggled with in writing. I have not met my stated goal, but I can't actually feel too bad about that because this year has outstripped last year and the year before that by so much. Honestly, just getting The Light Ahead longfic out and done makes this year a win, and I did a lot more than that. I just realized that the Word Of The Year project I did at the start of the year helped me a lot, but putting a pin in that for a second.
* Art and Design. I actually forgot that some of my art projects were from this year. I also did a lot of really cool planner layouts. I still have a lot of projects that I need to get done mostly so I can move on from them. Moving them from 'wanting to do this for years' to 'done' would be a huge relief and lessen my mental load. I do have some of this project ticking over, but I am not really an artist so... yeah.

I do still have doing some sort of bujo content creation like a blog or something ticking over. I don't think a blog would get any hits without being associated with a YT channel, but I do want to get these projects done and out.
* Life. Not going to get into detail, but in some ways things are a lot better for me... but also if you'd told me on Jan 1, 2022 that this is where I'd been when my year ended I'd have had a meltdown. Anyway, there is a lot to unpack there I am not unpacking it right now.
* Word Of The Year... oh I'd forgotten I'd done this and other pages in my planner at the start of 2022. I tried to work on that stuff in the first few months of 2022 and it just kept not working out. But looking back, taking a wack at it knocked more loose than I thought. What I'd tried was setting a theme year ala CGP Grey... honestly doing the CGP Grey theme thing at the start of the year made me frustrated, but... I think it got me moving in the right direction on things. So, I am doing a theme year again.

A few layouts, Leverage MerMay art and one of the comics I did
