(no subject)

I walked about 5 miles? It feels like more, but google maps says about 5. Hopefully, I got some shots. But, even without constant updates my tumblr is established enough that it's burbling along on it's own and my years and photowalking are finding people. Still, don't want to go too long between refilling the queue. I'll probably edit tomorrow.

I did take one picture of particular import, but I haven't pulled the files yet and tonight I am beat.

Beat, but also covered in skin care stuff. I did a mall trip for the first time in ages because some of my products... actually I don't want to admit how long I've had the same bottle of foundation. I use so little of the liquid that I am only like 1/3 through my bottle but, uh, my last trip to a MAC store was before the pandemic so >.> I also got new SPF lip balm which would have been very useful a few weeks ago. Again, my old tube isn't used up it's just... dead.

Sadly Pieology is closed Mondays so I didn't get to have a vegan pizza covered in a truly amazing amount of mushrooms. Have not had one of those in years. They aren't good vegan pizza overall, them and sizzle pie should not even be in the same category, but I like having my toppings be mushrooms, mushrooms, mushrooms, mushrooms. There is something about how mushrooms cook on a pizza that is just best.

* Corey Doctorow isn't someone I follow directly, but a lot of people I do follow follow him. A lot of the language they and myself use to talk about the enshittification of online platforms comes from him, I think even the term enshittification. Anyway, he's doing a book via kickstarter:

"My next book is The Internet Con: How to Seize the Means of Computation. Verso will publish it on September 5. It's a book that distills 20 years' experience, fighting for digital rights. It explains how the internet curdled - and how we'll get it back."

We can 'get it back'? I don't know. Things have been on such a slide for so long it's hard to imagine, but if he's doing a book I am going to support the book.

It has happened.

The time is upon us.

I have officially seen my first yard pumpkin of the year. The urban garden pumpkins are growing. Halloween is coming. The cool winds of fall are on their way:





Hopefully, I will find more soon because the ideal portland yard pumpkin picture needs to have both the pumpkin and signs that it's in the city clearly in a single frame. Still, it had begun!
