It's been day light for daaaays. In Anchorage I re-applied sunscreen at 7:45 PM because the sun was still high in the sky and super bright.
It's approaching 11:00 PM and it is looking slightly dusky out. At this same time in Kantishna it was super bright. At 11:00 out there people were moving to avoid how bright and strong the sun was. I've been dealing surprisingly well with this midnight sun thing. My brain is surprisingly willing to dismiss late day bright sunshine as light pollution. When I was in Anchorage and trying to get to sleep while the sun was still at mid-day brightness, I could sort of hear my subconscious going "darn, that is some weird light pollution and totally not sunlight."
I am a lifelong serious insomniac and have no idea why I am dealing so well with 10 days of bright daylight.
I may have been humming "Sunglasses at Night" when I've been, well, wearing sunglasses at night.

Your subconscious is doing the right thing. I'd be running around screaming like a yeti.
