How to explain Murderboat? The event is called Turbulence but it's run by Murderboat Productions and everyone seems to call it Murderboat.

Once, long ago, a guy bought a plane and stuck it in the woods. He made the plane his home. The place went viral on a lot of early social media and in the early days of YouTube. Murderboat claims the most accessed page on Atlas Obscura is this woodsy plane house. Anyway, they've started putting on concerts using his plane house as the venue. The right wing is the stage.

They also had a tea lounge, hammock forest, plane tours and more. I am really glad I went. I am not sure if they are going to do another one with live bands. The other shows there were EMD and ticket blocks sold out in ten minutes. They had some trouble moving tickets to this one.

Hammock Forest was comfy:

Tea break:

They also had chill out lounges with pools filled with pillows and inflatable pool toys and bubbles.

My view while laying down on a giant teddy bear:

Here is where I'd like to post a gif. I fundamentally don't get gifs. I make things they say they are gifs, but then they don't upload or they have other wonkiness. Once again gifs have defeated me, have a YouTube embed.

I did this right after getting back from Alaska. I was tired and I accidentally stayed for the whole thing. I was going to leave during the Sepiatonic set but I wound up dancing instead? Then I had a shuttle back to public transit and a 2 hour trip home after that. The shuttle to public transit was so nice. The entire event was so civilized. The bathrooms were cleaned hourly. People were so chill and didn't try to camp the best spots in the lounges. On every level it was just so nice.

And yet, despite the chill and the chill out lounges this wasn't a drugs events. They did a bag check for hard drugs. I am sure some people did pot. If pot was a thing I did, I would likely have done some there. This was a be chill and mellow with a drink or discrete edible type event, not a get wasted or trip balls event.

The cider bar was under the left wing:

I still hadn't bounced back from Alaska and my light rail train had delays. So I missed my last connection. I would up trying to walk home from the transit center at 2 AM while I was so tired that I wasn't sure I was actually awake. And my phone was dead. I went into a gas station was asked 'Can you call me a cab? Is that possible?' It was possible! I got to ride my last few miles home.

Anyway, the plane:

I didn't want to bring my larger camera. I didn't want to carry it or create social awkwardness by pulling out a serious looking lens. So I just brought my Pen 8 and a single prime lens. I really would have loved my wide angle lens:

Plane in the dark:

I'd really love to do an event like that again. I am glad I made it out even though the timing was terrible. I still can't believe I was there for the whole event right after arriving back home.

Wow! That looks like so much fun. The video is just beautiful. Thanks particularly for posting photos of the plane interior, because naturally one wants to see what living in a plane looks like!

Fascinating!! This looks like a blast. I love well-managed events, and they really utilized the venue in creative ways.
