The bus service that I am taking for my NYE get away just posted that they are closed for New Year's Day. That alert/info was not on the website when I booked my trip. I am not sure what to do with this information. It, uh, ruins my plans a little.

It's a bus service that connects Portland to The Gorge and it's closed for a holiday? This route, which was just purchased, was set up specifically as tourist service. It's the mass transit link from the city to Multnomah Falls FFS. This is so dumb. I can't extend my trip. Do I scrap or do I do a silly, short turn around?

I feel low energy and this problem popping up which I almost missed makes me anxious about trusting this bus service. I think I am going to delay my trip by a few weeks. I'll eat some cost, but at least I can still be there for a day of hiking. Looking forward to this was how I dealt with holiday stress. Going on a short trip where I am anxious about getting back sounds terrible.

So, re-booking it is. Maybe mid-January. This is so stupid.

Wow, that's totally not helpful or reasonable! If there's an email or comment section on their site, I'd definitely express dissatisfaction. The least that should have been expected was a large banner about the closed date on the site; even better, block out dates they won't provide service and don't allow people to book at all

Closing for the holiday does seem shortsighted. And not announcing it until 3 days beforehand? Totally unprofessional.

If they're closed, you shouldn't have been able to book. So I think this is an updated change as in someone told the company "I'm not working that day!"
It's kind of a good sign they didn't scramble for a temp driver. However, they SHOULD have contacted you immediately.

That's an epic fail on their behalf, it makes no sense not to run a service that it was designed to do. Good luck rebooking.
