I got my first proper leg stretch in a while last night. I went out around midnight and walked for about two hours. Some of the sidewalks are covered in pink petals and all sorts of flowers are going nuts right now. It's odd to be out among trees in full bloom and white flowers crowding the sidewalk only at night.
The flowering trees and flower gardens in Portland tend to go nuts in spring, flowers seems to crowd some of the sidewalks. Some of the tended gardens are almost surreal. I tried to take some pictures last spring contrasting the vigorous growth with the crumbling sidewalks and curbs, but wasn't happy with any of the results. Maybe next year I'll get the shot.
Even though it's spring and not summer, Summertime by Orville Peck is a mood right now. I wound up singing it last night under some trees turning the sidewalks into tunnels.
I really want better pictures of Portland sidewalks, but they work better as frames than as subjects. I really need a person to be photographing in them.
