* Left Coast Sherlock Symposium is going to be online this year. Last year was awesome. I am sad about not being able to be there in person, but last year the quality of the panels was top notch and I am looking forward to it. It looks like it'll be free/donation based, but that info in on their FB event page rather than the website.
* In slightly bigger news, San Diego Comic Con is going online this year. Honestly, movies and TV should be taking a cue from gaming and doing livestreamed announcements and hype events. As much as I loved going the year I did, I think we'll see some companies transition this year to permanently doing online stuff, especially since following SDCC news is always a trainwreck. I used to cover SDCC panels, and even I can't figure out how to get the news I want out of it.
* This Saturday, Miami's Pride event will be on Twitch and Instagram. Orville Peck is going to play! They haven't put out a schedule yet afaik, but rumor is that it starts at 7:00 PM Eastern.
Editing to add - Oh hey my city is also doing a virtual pride, I just didn't know about it until I went looking for it despite following a lot of relevant accounts! And they don't have the platform details up yet. Yup, that's Portland.
