Last fall I was in corn mazes and walking across flooded inner SE streets for pizza. Fuck I miss that.
I did the dumbest things yesterday. The Doubleclicks updated their Cats & Netflix song for quarantine, but they did that update back in March. It just hadn't appeared in my YT reccs. It a nice time capsule of early days, the learn to bake, get cozy, and muddle through a few rough weeks phase. Now obviously Portland is no longer is full lockdown, but we still have stricter rules and we are also just coming out of that really bad smoke event where most things were closed or only opened for reduced hours. Just that happy, hopeful, we'll band together apart March attitude just made me fall apart. It's completely dumb, but it did.
Also I am likely getting banned from the Buckaroo Banzai FB group today because they think it's super funny to consider Covid a plot by Buckaroo's enemies and are making jokes about 'Wuhan Coronavirus Labs' and I am telling them to stop sounding like racist conspiracy theory nutters. I am pretty sure how this is going to play out. The same old guard that purged the internet of slash fanfic back in the day are in this group and I expect replies to be to be spicy, if I am not banned outright. They've been doing coordinated attacks on anyone who disagrees with them since the 90s!
There are plenty of non-asshole TABB fans, but they are hard to find with this lot waging the same battles to this day. Eh, fuck 'em. They can't do anything about the smut fic I've posted to Ao3 and before the year is out I will post more. I will finish 'Spare a Horse, Ride a Cowboy' once I am done with current projects. Not that'll get read in the year of our lord 2020, neither the assholes or the people driven off by the assholes know to look there, but I will be happy to get the projects done.
I dedicated many more words to the TABB fandom thing but that's not what's really got me down. What's got me down is that damn song and that my shoes aren't soaked by 8 foot wide puddles on Mississippi Ave.
