People seem really confident this storm'll hit tomorrow. Places near me put out de-icing crystals already ... which is not effective, especially against snow. People just throw Ice Melt into snow here and think it summons a magic snow shoveling fairy. I have food, cider and I found where my seasons of The Librarians are.

I might try to shoot Portland in the snow, but it depends on what it's like out ... and if the snow misses us I'll go fairy house hunting again.

The weather here has been threatening a storm for a good week now, but it keeps getting pushed back. Now it's supposed to be fairly weak on snow and just cold as balls.

It seems like everyone in CO likes to be snotty about how somehow we're the *only ones ever* to understand snow... and then act like dumbasses about it anyway. Ice melt as a substitute for shoveling, no plowing to speak of, panic-runs to the store, assumptions that 4-wheel drive makes you invincible...

I hope that whatever the weather does, you have a decent time with it.

Oregon can't handle snow. We have a big problem with the transplants being all 'lol I can drive in it, I'll be fine you poor little locals' And then they find out that hard way what a difference curve banking and salting makes. We have unbanked curves on I-5 running through Portland. The first time I drove them in the rain I nearly lost control of my car.

We don't use salt. We don't make roads with snow in mind. Most people don't understand it's their job to shovel their sidewalks. Last big storm Seattle sent trucks down to dig us out because no one been able to get to work for a week. Also, storm hit during rush hour and people just wound up abandoning their cars. They all had to be towed. Entire highways of cars had to be towed. I'm from Connecticut, so yeah, all this is still odd to me. Also my yankee but always keeps storm supplies and emergency foods around so Portland's famous panic buying is baffling to me.

Oregonians know to not mess with the snow here. It's the newbs and tourists who, well give us amazing moments like this.

Colorado *should* be able to handle snow. But we're stuck with a ton of CA and TX transplants who don't know what they're doing + a bunch of native Coloradans who somehow think that alone is enough to magically make them proficient bad-weather drivers.

And oof, that is a BAD situation, to have so many people just abandoning vehicles. That happens sometimes here, but not usually to that extent.

Colorado seems to always have the "milk-bread-toilet paper" panic-buying the night before a storm... but it's not like snow is a rarity (except maybe this year), so there's no reason for panic! Why are people like this!?

That video is the epitome of the attitude locals are always dealing with. Acorrding to reports, the roads are pure and as I said, we don't salt. So, my butt is inside with cider and with The Librarians loaded onto my iPad in case the power goes out.

They keep changing their minds if we are gonna get snow at all. Right now they're back to saying rain only, with temps not quite cold enough for snow or ice.

Which I will take! I don't mind missing out. ;-)

The weather can turn so fast that I am just stuck here until it blows over. I feel kinda silly not photowalking today, but, I don't want to be caught in a mess.

Thanks. Yeah, I am staying indoor because the weather can turn so fast. I feel kinda silly staying in right now, but oh well.
