I did some photo-walking tonight. Hopefully I got some photos. I was out way too late because my favorite Twitch channel was doing some in-game events I wanted to do so I joined in. I wound up getting a very late start heading out and meant to only walk for an hour and a half. I went a bit longer.

It was really good to be out in the Portland rain, get some wet Portland air into my lungs. Tonight was classic, drizzly Portland rain. The sort of rain we used to have constantly. Everything was wet. The air smelled liked greenery and random flowers. I can't remember the last time I was out in rain like that. The times it rained on my photowalks in winter it was random hard downpours, not the typical Portland rain. It felt really nice and familiar.

We got that rain, too, and I miss it so much. I remember when it rained like that for 9 months and we only ever saw the sun in the summer.

Stupid climate change.

That smell - the greenery and flowers - that accompanies a good rain is one of my favorite scents.

Absolutely. When my grandmother was still in Newport she kept telling us how dry it was up there, so I'm really glad it's hopefully improving.

And yes, that completely saturating rain is SO different than a quick storm.
