Finally, The Eliot Character Trailer.
Only a few more days to go in the happy, pre-show hype phase of fandom. .
If they were going for immediate, textual poly there would be confirmation and everyone would be talking about it. One of the reviewers is trying to grind engagement by being controversial and calling Breanna an SJW and ~being brave enough to be critical~ of the show. So, yeah, if OT3 was textually canon he'd be using that for attention right now. I wouldn't be able to avoid hearing about it.
Canons having long breaks where people romanticize the original and idealize what a renewal would be like is pretty much a recipe for wank. Also, a lot people on tumblr are very, very convinced that certain things are WOG canon and are not WOG canon.
So, I've been enjoying this pre-release period a lot because I am assuming some people are going to be upset that either it's not going to be what they imagined or what others assured them the show would be like. People pimp this show based on things that are literally not true.
IDK, fandom never seems to react the way I expect it to. But it feels like a storm on the horizon.
I love Leverage enough that something about the new show will run me the wrong way. It's inevitable. But it's fine. I get more Eliot and at least some of that Eliot is written by JR. It's mostly the same productions team (unlike almost all revivals) so I do expect this to be more true to the original tone than 99% of revivals.
And I should be writing rather than navelgazing about fandom. I've just been enjoying the fandom being active and don't want to see it go boom.
