None of this will he spoilery, I just have 'cut everything' ingrained in my brain from millennia of LJ and DW.
When I was flying, I saw the start of Bill and Ted Face The Music. American Airlines doesn't have screens anymore, you link up one of your devices, but if you press pause it stops working. So, hence the start.
It was cute! The daughters were amazing. The whole pass off to the kids, the female Bill & Ted felt very natural. As a new installment of an old, classic film it was really solid. It also dragged in places and I wouldn't bother seeing it again.
The show's cinematography and lighting is amazing. I'd rather look at stills than the actual show. It's gorgeous. The color work! The compositions! The Michael Emmerson!
I like the characters. Season 1 started off strong, but the show is now all over the place. I am glad it got rescued by moving networks. I am going to stick with it ... but honestly I prefer looking at screencaps of the show to the show itself.
This movie gets referenced so often. So many times I hear 'they are trying to do a so-and-so from Roadhouse but not quite there' So, I finally watched it. As someone who used to train con staff I should have watched this years ago because like half my staff likely had concepts from this film in their head when on shift.
It starts out so strong and so unique. Then it just ... falls apart. A lot about this film and male friendships is really cool. But I can also see why so often people who've seen the film don't recommend it. It goes off the rails.
