Halloween (also Nefarious Addendum)

It's that time of year. I either need to start figuring out a Halloween project for this year, or be very sad in mid-October that I didn't have a fic or drawing I'd been working on.

If I do something, what? It'll likely be Leverage related. I play a lot of Phasmophobia and 'Eliot responds to Hardison playing online co-op ghost hunting' banter practically writes itself. I actually have a few pages somewhere, with no plot to hang it on. But that might be too much of a niche cross-over.

I'm in my navel-gazing phase over it ... trying to figure out what do?

I really need to go back and reshoot Lone Fir Cemetary, and also the gravesite next to it.

Oh, while she hasn't said what she's been up to (or doing the fan meet ups she does while traveling in calmer times) Ask A Mortician's Caitlin Doughty has been in Portland for a bit! Most people are betting that she's covering the Portland Mausoleum and it's seekrit room. I wish she'd been taking suggestions for what to do in the area because I'd have some, including that field! I know I've sent her links to the hidden Rae Room in the mausoleum and it's history, but other things in Portland don't have as good documentation about them. I need to put together some materials about that one gravesite in inner NE Portland soon.

... Actually wasn't that going to be my pandemic project? Covering unconventional ... actually no that was my pre-pandemic project that was one of several derailed by the pandemic. Some of the shooting I needed to do became either way harder or unpossible. I might pick that back up a bit? There are two gravesites where I want my own materials on it organized for easy linkage if nothing else.

I need to listen to Ask a Mortician - I hear nothing but great stuff about it, and always forget to actually... listen to it. (I am absolutely awful at ever listening to/watching/etc. anything, lol.)

With you on needing to find some sort of Halloween something to do. It's my absolute favorite holiday, and I want to do SOMETHING to celebrate it. I always find myself wishing I'd done more for it, and some sort of artistic project would definitely be a good thing to pour some energy into.

Caitlin is the best! Yeah, it's hard to keep up with the good content out there sometimes. She also has a few different types of content on her channel as well.

I get so sad in late Halloween when people start posting their projects if I have none. Still not sure what to do. Cute? Cozy? Corpse theft? Thinking about Caitlin has me thinking about corpse theft. Hrmmm...

There's so much good stuff out there! It's a bit sad, knowing there's a lot out there that I know I'd love if I got into it, but... I just never feel like I have the time.

That is a good question... so many directions Halloween stuff can go. I'm a fan of all of the above. (Your Leverage idea sounds cute!) Though corpse theft is an intriguing prompt!

When I've played Phas I've said things like "I'm too sane for this" or "yeah, I can go back to prison. I'm down with that". Very easy banter hooks. Maybe I can stick it in somewhere in a longer story.

Back when I did more photographing with an actual camera, I loved to shoot in graveyards. There's something hauntingly beautiful about them.
