I've started a post on modern private rail travel, inspired by a certain trailer. I thought I didn't know much about private rail travel, but the post is going to wind up fairly long. I just need to find ways to wrangle all that info to make it more clear. I also want to find some good pictures. Finding good pictures is a pain. Most websites renting multiple cars that go for thousands a day have literally no pictures. For those with pictures, here are a few gems:

While frustrating for me, I think the terribleness isn't a big deal for them. It's just a very insular world. If you rent trains you probably know what's available and know owners.

I did find some good pics to post. I always want to take a few bashes at finding out more information before I post. Private rail, especially the higher end stuff, isn't interested in being seen. I bet some pictures are on instagram somewhere, if I could figure out the right search.

You make a fair point, that they probably don't HAVE to have pictures to sell what they're selling - you either know enough to want it and know what you're getting, or you aren't their target audience.

I think some of the websites were made in the 90s and just never updated. A lot of them wont even load images on Firefox, I had to switch to Chrome.

That could be the culprit behind some of those TERRIBLE pictures, especially the teenie tiny ones.

But oh geez, the "influencer" shots, lol. Those are disproportionately funny to me. Not quite as funny as the ones that look like scanned prints from a disposable camera in 1999, but...
