I went out to Peacock Lane. It's a street in Portland where everyone does holiday lights and has for decades. Tonight was the first night they officially started for the season. Few people were there. Some of the houses didn't have the lights on. I also did some random walking in the area. Didn't really get many shots. The holidays just don't have much of the sort of decoration I am interested in. But it was good to get out and walk. I didn't expect much of Peacock Lane, but it's a local thing. Usually, it gets super crowded. It can gridlock the area for blocks. But I guess a lot of people didn't know it started tonight ... including the people who live there.
One shot I am looking for is one that shows how useful it is for houses to have holiday lights. We don't have street lights in much of Portland. We have lots of tree cover. It gets super dark. Holiday lights make the city easier to walk in at night. I really want the right street shot.
