(The title of this post is a joke, but I did upload the new version, get annoyed at the thickness of the speech bubble lines, fixed them and then re-uploaded)

And is more readable at smaller sizes:

I am terrible at fonts. I know this because people who are good at fonts have told me this a lot. But I am going to try to not care. This font may look like distillation of 2015-era Instagram, but it's very readable even at small sizes and it's not comic sans. I just pulled this comic up on my phone and it's still readable. This is just going to be the font that I use for lettering in Procreate.

I tried looking up videos on Procreate lettering and it was all 'free tutorial' videos that use fonts, temples, brushes and assets that you need to buy from the person who made the video. I don't mind buying fonts. I bought the one I am using. But it's so annoying to peel back the marketing slime when looking for information sometimes. I might actually have bought some of the font and brush packs people were trying to sell me if they'd been presented differently.

But, hopefully I am set for fonts. I have my font for my photography stuff, a good lettering font and I impulse bought a pack of vintagey/westerny fonts.

Still a lot of problems with the drawing, but I am going to attempt to call this done and move on.

*Bad at fonts solidarity fistbump*. Because I am also bad at fonts, it probably doesn't mean much for me to say that I like the font you went with! It IS very readable, which is a huge plus.

I like it! :D Eliot's tail is my favorite.

I've definitely seen some otherwise nice fonts that are just *bulky* when it comes to lettering. Not taking up too much room on an image is definitely an important consideration.

His tail is definitely the most important part!

I love the final version! All the details are great, and the font looks nice (I think comic sans is fine, so, lol)

Aww! This is such a charming moment. :D I love the details of the fins and scales on Eliot's tail.

Haha, you do indeed never know when you'll have to fight a guy in water! One font option for speech bubbles is Markerman, as it looks kind of like what they use in comics.
