Web3IsGoingGreat has a website with an RSS feed so if I ditch Twitter I wont lose that. Right now, the twitter is best for W3IGG as often it has updates. It posts about rug pulls and Ape thefts pretty much daily. It's informative, but it's also maddening how '20 mill stolen' is pretty much a daily thing.
I set up a DW feed for it! One problem, the html blorts out on every 10th post or so. I don't mind, but I might want to figure out if I can make RSS posts automatically lj-cut in my own journal style settings.
Poking through already established feeds I found out that Looking For Group and Sluggy Freelance webcomics are still going? Holy blast from the past. Sluggy Freelance is the OG. I've subscribed to those, XKCD and Oglaf. Nice.
RSS might be able to do a lot for me. Once again, just using Dreamwidth features more seems to be the solve to some of my problems.
On a related note, I am hearing about newletters and other comms finally leaving LJ in the wake of the sanctions... but I see nothing on the comm promo and fandom calendar comms I am on. DW really needs a welcome wagon or something.

Date: 2022-04-29 04:49 am (UTC)From:I need to figure out RSS stuff. It was one of those things semi-back-in-the-day that seemed useful and like I should utilize it, and then it seemed like no one used it anymore (and I guess google used to have an RSS feed that lots of people used and then they shut it down?) Suddenly, I'm starting to see more and more people mention newsletters and things having RSS options, and it seems like it'd be useful to figure out again!
(I get the sense there's not much to "figure out", but still!)

With DW it's pretty easy and works just like subscribing to a community.

(Glad you mentioned it!)
