* I've had shingles 3 times. Stress tends to cause shingles to recur. How the ever-loving-aardvark I managed to get through the pandemic without another case of them I'll never know. However, I am having suspicious skin irritation that has all the early signs of shingles. But, it's not quote bad enough for a doctor to be able to diagnosis. Hopefully, it just goes away and the irritation being *exactly* where I get shingles is a big co-incidence.

I got chicken pox too young for the immunity to take right, which is why I get shingles. Every time I've asked for the vaccine I've been told that I am 'too young' for shingles and my 3 separate diagnoses by 3 separate doctors must alllll have been mis-diagnoses. If I get a 4th diagnosis I am going to be extremely pissed. For now I am going to sit here and attempt to disbelieve in shingles in hopes that makes them go away.

Also, maybe I can just pay for a shingles vaccine and get one somewhere instead of begging a doctor to believe my well documented medical history?

* I went on a GW2 break weeks ago now and... haven't really gotten back into the game yet. I tried, but it sort of fell flat. That sucks because the game is like 95% of my current social life. I've just been doing daily log ins, about 2 metas a week and a few strike missions with the guild.

Not sure what to do with that. I'd like to just not raid anymore, but if I'm not in the raiding group there goes... pretty much all my verbal conversations with people who know me from a hole in the ground.

* I haven't done much today, except I did make a bit pot of rice with beef bone broth, onion, and toasted sesame oil.

Too old for shingles? How old do you supposedly have to be? (Because it's been about ten years now since I had shingles.)

I'm too young for shingles. I had my first case in my thirties, but apparently I shouldn't get them until 50.

Doctors just never take me seriously. I have no idea how other people get referrals and treatment for things.

You might just try some pharmacy websites and see if they let you sign up for a shingles vax. That's how I got mine, though I was 51 at the time. I don't recall if I had to give them my birthdate to prove I could get it.

My partner had shingles a handful of years ago and I have so much sympathy for you.

I am going to wait a few weeks and then try a few places for vaccine. According to what I read last night you need to be 50 or have had shingles, so I just need to find a place that believes me. Currently, my skin is calming down so maybe my body is fighting off whatever this is. You shouldn't get the vacc while you have it, so I will wait and bit and then go hard on trying to get it.

I read up on it last night and you shouldn't get it while you may have shingles. So, once I am sure this is resolved one way or another, I am going to just try different pharmacies and stuff and see who will take my medical history seriously.

Everyone I've known who has gotten shingles has said it is the absolute WORST. I really hope this new irritation is just coincidental.

That is infuriating that your diagnoses of it haven't been taken seriously. I am so sorry that's happened, especially if it's just going to KEEP happening until someone does believe you. (Or you get old enough for it to count, I guess.)

Bummer that GW2 isn't holding your interest much. I hate when that sort of thing happens, losing interest in a thing you love. I hope that something sparks some more enjoyment!

I am hoping that this is nothing and will pass. I can probably find a way to get the vaccine if I keep at it. Maybe if I go through Zoomcare, where I got the diagnoses. Maybe they'd trust their own staff, lol.

Yeah, I want to get back into it for a few reasons, but it's feeling like a slog right now. Maybe I need a longer break.

I'd hope they might trust their own staff, but that seems like it could be giving any medical provider too much credit. It seems clear - after multiple recurrences especially - that you need that vaccine like, yesterday.

A longer break sounds reasonable. It's definitely not a good feeling when the thing that's supposed to be for fun stops really being fun.

You'd 3 three doctors all giving me the same diagnosis would like mean something, but I swear... stuff just never seems to work right

I hope it is fighting it off, and that it doesn't get any worse! Following up is a good idea. I'm terrible about "out of sight, out of mind", so I easily forget about stuff like that.

Right?? Three different diagnoses of THE SAME THING should be enough confirmation, I would think. But oh no. Medical stuff is horribly frustrating.
