* I still need to do that Stashdown post about my camera lenses, and also my inks/fountain pens. Today I went and emptied my box of inks to make sure there is no Noodler's in there. I always got bad vibes from Noodler's package design, and it seems the guy who makes the inks has gone full QAnon. He has apologized for some aspects of his new designs, but not others. I am glad I never bought Noodler's, even though they were highly recced to me by store employees during October ink shopping trips.

The online chatter about trying to find another acceptable waterproof ink is making me think my ink collection is very low end. Ah, well, I obviously don't use bottle ink enough for it to be an issue. I do like using dip pens, it's just a matter of it being fussy. Sometimes you need to wait between every single line....

There is a reason why a lot of my finished work is a Procreate export these days.

* Speaking of which I have 2/4 panels of my Weird West comic done. It wont be as well drawn as my GW2 one unless I scrap and re-start, but it'll hopefully not be terrible.

* I could possibly de-stash a lot of my ink and dip pen stuff, but it also all fits into a fairly small box so there is no real point. I'll still post at a point.

* The much anticipated Our Father Netflix doc is out and it's... a thing.

Always a gross feeling to discover that some brand of stuff is super skeevy. I'm glad it's not a brand you bought or were wildly in love with or anything. (Dare I ask what package design stuff was questionable and tipped you off on the sketchiness?)

I haven't ever tried dip pens, though I've seen very pretty things done with them. (And very pretty pens, for that matter.)
It kind of seems like it's worth hanging onto them, if they aren't taking up too much space.

Haven't seen the doc... though I remember hearing about the pretty horrifying case.

I honestly don't know what it was about Noodler's designs. I just remembered people in the local craft stores reccing it very highly as the best ink they carry and me just side-eyeing the package art. He also appears to have done other colors like Rome Burning, which has text criticizing excess liquidity in fiat currency?

The current controversy is over putting horns on a Jewish person on a red/communist color. Even if the anti-semitism was a 'mistake' as he claims, I don't want to use ink with so many opinions on fiscal policies. He was 'just' trying to demonize communism...

And just to be clear I don't think it was a mistake, between the type of horns and looking at his website, that wasn't an oopsie. He knows what he did, he just thought he could get away with it

Why yes, that does sound pretty fucking shady. And I'm pretty sure he knew exactly what he was doing with that design, and just assumed no one would really object. Gross.

Yeah, he's clearly been in some political rabbit holes for a while.

Just glad I went with Dr Martin's ink instead.
