With a week to go to the finale, here are my Stranger Things theories so I can look back and see how wrong I was.
* Eddie Lives! (And if he does die I ignore that and write an AU where he becomes a paranormal shit archivist / researcher so the team doesn't run into 'oh, wait, how did Will communicate with lights?' thing again)
* Will's painting is not a love confession. He is gay and has a crush on Mike, but that's not what's up with him. Mike was the one closest to him and who listened to him and trusted him the most in season 2. The painting is a vision or dream he keeps having. He painted it to confide in Mike what's going on. We will see the painting at the very end of the last episode and it will be the season 5 teaser.
* A parent dies. It's the second to last season. Killing a parent is a good way to raise the stakes without killing any of the main crew. They've already called out that Vecna is only after teenagers and there is no reason he is stuck only feeding on them. They may be the juiciest targets, but I am sure he can branch out.
* In the foreshadowing scene, it's the Sinclair siblings who came out of nowhere and save the games. They do the winning shot / roll in episode 1. Loyal, logical Lucas is finally going to get a shining moment of awesome.
* Steve and Dustin will hug. Steve doesn't touch his friends. Eddie is very casual about touching people. Steve, even when so excited to see Dustin at the start of S3 that he loses his shit, no hug.
Eddie just full-on hugs Dustin like it's no big deal in this scene where Steve looks very out of place: https://www.tumblr.com/blog/view/outcider/687545287934377984?source=share
Also, Eddie pulled Dustin into a half hug to keep him from falling later.
Some Steve & Dustin moment is being set up with the contrast between his two mentors.
The next two things aren't theories, just hopes:
* Vickie is so done with all the weird shit in town and all the death, that she decides to go for what she wants, and what she want is to ask Robin out.
* It feels like they are setting up Eddie finally seeing El to be like a big deal. I'd love it if instead of her rescuing him... Eddie sees her and rushes in to kill a demobat. He tries to be all comforting and promises to get her home. She calls herself Jane, a name Eddie hasn't heard yet. El just lets him ramble and try to comfort her. Later, when they meet the group everyone gives him shit for not realizing that a strangely calm girl in the chaos isn't more than she seems.
* Also I do seriously want to see Eddie become like the paranormal archivist / oral history taker / town history expert.

Date: 2022-06-25 05:55 am (UTC)From:I agree that Will is gay and has a crush on Mike, but that's not what I think Will is all about. Thank you. I'm so exhausted with the obsession of Will's crush. I'm glad the duo are back together. They seem to really feel relief to be friends again. Hopefully they will play a big role in saving El and the unity between the friends will be restored. And also perhaps El and Mike can move on and just be friends again. Maybe that's mean of me to think -- but I feel like the two felt more obligated than in love, which also seems to parallel the Nancy and Will's brother relationship (forget his name right now).

I do hope people get better at maintaining friendships, as much as I love the reconnecting scenes
