This is the first year personal fireworks have been banned in Portland. The ban was super popular. This is also hands-down the noisiest 4th of July weekend I can remember dealing with. I'm sound sensitive so I typically spent this day not being able to do a damn thing. Per the weather service it's so much that it's affected the atmosphere in a way they haven't noticed in the past.
In my area it feels like people are acting out against the ban by setting off the most possible. It started around 4 PM. It's 2 AM now and it's finally hopefully settled down.
Fuckers.
Tonight's been the worst, but it's kind of made my whole weekend a waste.
