* I was excited to watch a Mothman doc and then the narrator referred to the area's early inhabitants as Scots-Irish 'and also native tribes occasionally walked through the area'. Like... what? Are you really trying to make claims that wow it didn't belong to anyone really before the white settlers? wtf...

* Also there's a Mothman Fest and also a museum in the area? Oooh... I really want to go, esp since the Oregon Bigfoot Festival is ending after all the problems last year. That's the one I couldn't go to because my AB&B host cancelled and there were no hotels rooms nearby. I'd have needed to do public transit commutes of over 2 hours each way in 100+ heat and also wildfire smoke.

* I had plans to do things tonight, but I sort of passed out for 3 hours. Nothing super social, but trying to at least be around people more often. My fatigue problems suck recently.

Bummer that the Bigfoot Festival is ending. (Bigger bummer that it's due to issues!)
But a Mothman Fest sounds fantastic, honestly.

Yeah, I noped out of that nonsense.

Basically, climate change is making it impossible to do a late summer outdoor festival here. Those are the issues, not like how it's run. Still sad I didn't make it, but also, yeah, just was not going to happen.

That's very unfortunate. :( I'm both glad and sad that it's not due to issues with the running of the event, just because it's sad when something can be handled as well as possible, yet still have it be untenable. Though I can understand the why. Climate change is fucking so much - the horrific fire seasons make any large events a struggle, between direct safety and air quality. Plus plenty of other extreme weather conditions.
