It's patch day and I feel like a slug.
Guild Wars 2 had its biggest new content update in a year and I literally still haven't done a lot of my typical daily things like watch Jesse Cox's Five Minute Gaming News. Today was a big deal because we haven't have new content in about a year... which is not to say we haven't had content. For the first two years of the game all the patches were temporary. Maps, story instances, massive dungeons, etc. GW2 was initially supposed to be an 'ever changing world', but that did not work. Even people who just took a break missed the introduction of new characters and for newer players tons of story, skins, Achievement Points and more were just... not accessible. So, over the past year the patches have been putting a re-coded, re-polished and re-balanced version of all that back into the game. It's been fun to replay it and see other people see it for the first time but... I literally had every cheeve and skin and everything. Also, for streamers, a lot saw viewership drop because old, restored content was not as engaging as new stuff. A lot saw about a 20% drop. So, on many levels the game being back to new content is a big deal. So, I've been playing or hanging out in streams and becoming one with my chair.
Actually, that is only partially true. I just came back from my daily walk. Which is why I have the brain cells back to post. Now to do maybe three sentences of writing and pass out.
