* Elon's big multimillion dollar AI project, using twitter's money is... TruthGPT. It's going to use AI to do what AI is fundamentally unfit for, find The Truth. Pulling millions from twitter's budget because he thinks twitter can afford to fund an AI project? One that isn't even... like... he isn't using AI to make custom ads or do anything else twitter is in the business of doing. IANAL but even if this was a viable project, this could open him up to lawsuits from his financial backers for misuse of funds.

* The members of The Writers Guild of America have authorized a strike and here's hoping the companies just give in and give them the money. I fully support the strike, but also *sweats in Stranger Things fandom* The Duffers do a lot of their writing during production. They are also directors. Imagine them having to shoot, on set, giving direction and not being able to tweak/change the scripts at all. On one hand it's kind of a funny mental image, but also I really hope that doesn't happen. I am hoping that no strike is needed or they postpone the production.

But objectively a writer/director sitting there unable to do rewrites while scenes aren't hitting is funny, and terrible, but funny... and also I hope something they don't have to go through.

Most importantly, 98% of the guild supporting a strike authorization speaks volumes. They need a better deal.

Which is, ironically, the answer this type of program might give to 'what do you get when you multiply six times nine' because if it's said on the internet enough, it must be true! Just like how these programs argue it's 2022 instead of 2023. There are more 'the current year is 2023' statements online than 'the current year is 2022' therefore QED, etc

I do support the strike and hope they get everything they want and deserve. I also hope they get all of that WITHOUT having to actually deal with a strike, or if there is a strike that the companies cave very quickly.

Ongoing scripted series are such a rough *thing* right now as it is, that I hate to see anything that damages them further... while still 100% supporting the strike, and believing that those things (no matter how much I like them) don't deserve to be made if they aren't treating the people behind them well.

98% voting for strike authorization speaks volumes about how bad things are. I'm sure writers want to keep writing and don't want to see projects they've been working on potential hurt or trashed by this. I hope they just pay up
