* Haven't been posting much but a lot of things I could post about I just didn't want to. I mean, who wants to hear my thoughts on Rainbow capitalism?

Though, with everything going on I want to get some great picture of Pride in Portland this year. Not the actual even but like other stuff. Fuck, I hate pride month for a lot of reasons but I can at least take pictures of cute houses and places unafraid to fly flags. I'll have to see what I can find. Actually I started a folder a year ago to put aside pics to post specifically in June for Pride this year and so far, is empty.

Wow, that seems like a great idea for this property in particular!

I love Pride, and wish that it wasn't something so contentious and shitty in too many ways for too many people. But man, would I love to see a lot more "organic" pride stuff - the signs and flags and decorations that aren't just Corporate Approved Pride(TM) (until someone gets mad about it, in which case we'll fold like a wet kleenex).

It really is. Now I see why the execs get the big bucks and the writers should not even have a living wage. It's so perfect for Deadpool to muzzle Ryan Reynolds.

Corporations are not our friends. Them having displays is a barometer of public opinion, and if staff are being threatened that is who they have a responsibility to. The organic stuff is great, I just sometimes sit there and clone out house numbers juuuust in case.

Right? Such a great decision on their part. This is definitely why they're the most important and special-est smart minds who are the most deserving of everything.

And that is absolutely true - the safety of their employees is certainly the needed priority, as shitty as it is that it's even in question. Making sure nothing identifiable (like house numbers) is definitely a good idea, though.

Retail workers should not be on the front lines of culture wars. This is apparently a scalding hot take because so many people want to make them the front lines in culture wars.

No one in a service position should be on the front lines. And yet a LOT of people seem comfortable thinking they should be, or deserve to be, or bear responsibility for other people's behavior.
