* Deadline put out a completely fact-free article stating that there was a big meeting between WGA and AMPTP. This meeting did not happen. Even before the articles and meeting, I saw lots of 'I heard from my friend in the industry' posts across reddits and other fandom spaces. A lot of people are very insistent that the strike is almost over and showrunners have been ordered to make plans to resume work at a moment's notice. None of this is true. Members of the negteam have said it's not true.
And John Rogers tweeted "Jesus, that Deadline article is more than just wrong, it slid into the hallucinatory. They may as well have added unicorns."
What has actually happened is that the AMPTP have a new PR firm. The WGA literally can't have a new proposal they presented, they can't hiding having a new proposal from their own members. This is dumb, it's fractally dumb, people claiming the leaks came from 'messages from Netflix to the Duffers' need to be laughed off of the internet.
Right now lots of randos on the internet are very sure the strike is about to be over, some who totally know people who work on things for reals, when in reality there has been no movement.
* I've written an Astarion/Tav (BG3) short fic. Not sure if I will post it, but it's done. I'll likely sit on it a few days and decide.
