Hannah, the waitress, had scenes in the full season trailer not seen in this episode. Also, she is credited as a series regular. Also, there were many flags she was more than she seemed. I had my money on 'actually there to help her' from the start and if we follow the show's grammar of when he leaps, that seemed to bear out. Also, it makes sense with Ziggy not knowing why Ben was there. They were looking at the historical implications of the case, not the waitress.

Is she another leaper? A person who will become key to the program? A complication to the love triangle? Will she later become a leaper? Or, any combo of those?

I thought maybe they were trying to keep her last name a secret since it's not in the press release I saw, but it's on IMDB as 'Carson'. I don't think that is relevant.

I don't know. The definitely seem to be setting her up as a scientist they are trying to guide.

I read something where it was mentioned that she's not a leaper but will be significant to the season. I really like her! I appreciate that the show is doing a lot with past leaps addressing inequalities without being too heavy-handed in the afternoon special kind of way.

Ultimately, I'm crossing all my fingers with a poly lens (where Addison finds herself attracted to Hannah) but I also like how they managed to fit all Addison's guilt and all Ben's rage but eventual road to understanding in one episode.

Yeah, TPTB said she's not a leaper but I always take those statements with a grain of salt. If she became a leaper I'd be unsurprised.

I'd like new guy to fall for Ben, but not getting my hopes up. And I am way too tied up with BG3 and Stranger Things fic to even think about writing it.
