* SAG-AFTRA announced a horrible deal to throw voice actors under the bus regarding AI. All this AI stuff is going to seriously impact how selective I am about games in the future.

* I am seeing a lot about high profile creators leaving youtube and it makes sense. The pandemic/strike boom times are over, the AI flood is here and I've seen a lot of creators stress out over how staying active on twitter is necessary to their job.

* Okay, time to ignore the world getting worse and try to work on writing... before I start talking about twitter getting worse and 'accidentally' kicking reporters and how during the earthquake in Japan official information accounts hit API limits and... Nope, going to ignore all that

I am so pissed about the AI shit for voice actors. I feel like I'm DEFINITELY going to have to pay attention to that sort of thing very closely... Not that I pick up loads of games anyway, as you know, but that'll certainly make some much easier to completely ignore, I guess. but seriously, i am really pissed

Don't they get that by basically throwing out a market they are also shrinking their own power base as a union? This is all such shit.

That's one of the things that I find the most frustrating/upsetting about the whole thing! Throwing a whole market out, making choices that most damage the people just entering into the field (and therefore the union!) makes it that much harder to keep bringing in new members, and is absolutely going to shrink their own power base. It feels so painfully shortsighted, in a way that seems baffling to me.
