Hit two places I've been wanting to hit for a while. One is Queer Plants, which is a cafe for plant gays in a cute area. I just had to. The latte was meh, but still 10/10 would sit there and write for a bit again.

There is also a soy and dairy free restaurant north of there I went to after. This is how cute the food was:

Would totally send back in time ten years and post to instagram for clout. The taste? Uh, there was a taste...
So that's a vegan place with cauliflower based food. I love cauliflower. But, instead of using like chunks of yummy roasted cauliflower they did the thing where they super processed it to make it tougher and 'meaty'. Also, the flavorings added where... odd. It was very vinegary. It was like cumin and smokey and also very vinegar-forward. The salsa verde was also very, very vinegary.
So, I pulled out the cabbage and guac, mixed it with the super vinegary salsa and made a salad. I ate just that. The yummy part of the food in that picture... was the cabbage.
There is also a dairy and soy free place down in Sellwood and if that also turns out to suck I will be very sad.
I also stopped by Portland's new selfie spot:

You can stand between the cut outs and the mural to look like you are either in the troll's fist or his mug, when shot head on of course. I shot it at a angle to show how it works.

I just realized why the food tasted so weird. I was expecting Mexican food but super heavy cumin and super heavy vinegar are health food trends. It wasn't 'Mexican, but make it vegan' it was extra crunchy vegan foods trends in the form factor of tacos.
