* The good news is that I am bouncing back from my migraine pretty fast. I should be getting reading glasses in the mail in about two weeks. My far vision is close enough to my very old prescription that I might not bother with new ones. I went in because, yup, fuck, I need reading glasses. I probably have for a while. I tried to do the whole non-prescription reading glasses thing, use ones you can just buy at a store, but none of them worked for me. I did not order them from the same office I got that exam.
I wanted my reading glasses to be substantially different, to feel different, from my normal glasses. I don't want any 'why can't I see' moments in the mornings. I want sensory feedback telling me which pair I am wearing, because I am idiot sometimes. I got ones that are maybe a bit silly, because I'd be just wearing them at home, right? Yeah, oops, shortly after I ordered them I was at the grocery store squinting at labels and was like... fuck.
* And then a few hours after I ordered my silly reading glasses I went to a drink and write event at Rose City Book Pub and why the fuck am I this much of a flake?
Anyway, the event was good! It's too bad it's only once a month, but I hope to go regularly. Some of the people there know each other from other writer's groups and maybe I can find out from them others I can join. My previous attempts to join write-ins or writer's groups did not go well, so maybe from them I can find out about good ones. Really not looking to deal with bullshit or people with no concept of boundaries.
* Our biggest local grocery chain is trying to get people to break the strike by offering 50% off Squishmallows. This is hilarious to me. If you don't know, the collector's scene for those are fairly serious.
