My 'books read in 2024' spread is maybe finished?



I'd planned to color it in, but right now not sure whether to do that or try to figure out a few more details to add. I wish I'd varied the book sizes more, but I was trying to not turn that into too much of a project.

I'll post more spreads once I have more done. Right now I am working on a book bingo for 2025. It's something I've seen people do in other reading journals and I like the idea. But, I'd need 25 ideas for it and I've got about half. My current squares are: Poly, Public Domain, New Series, Banned Book, Current Bestseller, Book I've had for 2+ years, Local Author, Locations I am visiting in 2025, Indigenous Author, Werewolves, Haunted House, Holiday Theme and Set on a Train.

I have an Agatha Christie tracker in the back because I plan to read everything by her, but I'll probably use up the journal before I complete that list.

What a wonderful idea! I highly envy everyone who does any kind of bullet journaling because I'm completely unable to do it and the projects always look so nice!

Some projects aren't as hard as they look. For me the main challenge was how bad my hand-writing is. I had to do that in little batches or it would have degraded terribly.

Ah, see, for me it's about keeping up the habit. I started a doodling journal a year ago and...well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm doing my updates to it in batches. If I tried to keep it current, that would quickly become a mess.

And man, you read a bunch! I love the decorations, too - the ink bottle, and the cup of desk supplies.

I did a reading spread for mine this year, too. I'm hoping to finish one more book before the true end of the year, and will also add the things that I'm partially through, but otherwise it's done.

I love the journal, just wish I'd bought it in a larger size. I also need to be so careful because I am worried about messing up the cover. I am used to just pushing them around as I need to for making layouts.

I added in my current audiobook and ebook because it filled out the drawing better. I will probably be mostly done before midnight.

Oof, I can understand the cover worry! In addition to the bigger books I keep my habit tracking in, I try to keep small ones that fit in a tote bag so I always have it with me at work or when I go out somewhere. But they really do get beat to hell. (Plus just yeah, manhandling them when you're working on a spread.)
