I've randomly started watching DS9

Picard has me on a Star Trek kick I guess. I wanted to see the episode that introduced Jadzia Dax and hey it turned out to be the pilot. I just kept watching. I've always thought Jadzia was awesome, though I didn't watch much DS9 back in the day.

I used to think Odo was painfully boring. I was so wrong. He's amazing. He's all 'These newbies are being dumb. I am going to go melt into a pile of goo and chill in my bucket'.

I am also watching select TNG episodes that are relevant to the new show. TNG really, really isn't my jam so I am glad to have DS9 to watch. I don't know if I'll give ST:D another try.

TNG was never my jam, either, even though I watched it through when it first came on. TV was such a sci fi desert then.

Odo is amazing; I love him. I can't stand Kira, though, so ....yeah, no. Can't do it.

I've enjoyed Picard so far, but I'm still waiting for Santiago Cabrera to grace my screen. :D

I like Kira so far, but that might change.

I didn't watch much DS9 when it was on because I was a Bab5 fan and that was a serious fan divide back in The Day.

I feel bad for not being able to stand TNG because I think it's the Trek that most Trekkies are nostalgic for, especially since it was the only thing at the time.

Santiago Cabrera looks awesome. I don't know him from anything, but he seems like he'll be fun. I saw the character trailer to see who the upcoming major characters are and I'm waiting for Evan Evagora as Elnor. He looks like an elf from Rivendell became a Samurai and fell into a Starship.

I can't do more than one or two TNG at a time: they're nearly all self-contained stories, so there's nothing being built.

I want to identify and watch some of the good TNG stand alones, at least a few. I love Trek and want to be more versed in the lore, but I will never make it through all of TNG.

DS9 holds up so well -- every time I rewatch I get something different or new or refreshed from it!

It does hold up. I really like the character dynamics and conflicts they've set up.

TNG was never to my tastes either (mostly as I'm not fond of Picard as a Captain). TOS is definitely my Star Trek, though I am watching scattered episodes of Voyager and really enjoying them so far. I have seen bits of DS9 and liked it, I need to give the series a proper go.

TOS is definitely my Trek.

I like aspects of Enterprise but they really pushed the vulcan tsundere fanservice hard. I think the second scene of the pilot is a shower scene for 'decontamination' and then when they introduced Vulcan therapeutic massage I was pretty much done. I like iddy stuff but man, they were really over the top on that show.

I don't mind Picard. I do mind Troi casually scanning everyone's brains without consent. She can just be all 'Crewperson, you seem troubled. Come see me' She can literally command people to see her for therapy. I have layers of problems that that. I have other problems with TNG, but that is the reason I can't like get over those problems and just watch anyway. I also feel bad for the actress. She's talked about getting nothing from any of the directors. Her most famous performance she kept falling flat and not knowing where to look because the directors only helped the other actors.

DS9 has some interesting character dynamics set up. Lots of viewpoints in conflict, but all of them reasonable. Jadzia Dax is amazing and I love the detached amusement she has. Her actor does a great job.
