For the first time ... there was an open delivery window for groceries! Aaaaaand it was gone by the time I got to check out. I have a lot of food allergies so things have been an adventure for me recently. I go to a grocery store and they have no bread, tortillas, tuna, noodle bowls, etc that I can eat. I did nab some chicken thighs and I'll slow cook those in salsa tomorrow.
I have food, but some dinners have been like sliced ham with oven fries and a banana. Could be worse, could be way worse.
For some reason*, a lot of the grocery stores in my part of town are fairly cramped and seem to not be ADA complaint. (*There are a lot of theories, but I don't know which is correct. In general, a lot of developers get away with taking code as just suggestions.) So, they are not adapting well to current situation. There is a newly opened grocery near me and they are doing the one-way aisle thing, but there is no way to get to certain parts of the store without breaking the rules. And if you skip the pet food/paper goods aisle, there is no way to the baking aisle.
I wanted to do a big restock in food in case I got sick, but outside of the chicken all I came back with after today's excursion was a 3 pack of bagels, 1/2 dozen eggs, a single banana, a coffee stout and a great deal of annoyance. I mean, I could have grabbed that whole ham but I didn't want to carry it.
I'll trek out to Fred Meyers later. Going to the new Green Zebra was a mistake, unless I want a robot to make my coffee or get a growler of CBD infused kombucha. (and no, I am not kidding, the draft kombucha bar was staffed.)
