300 is hazardous. We are well above it. It's just going to get worse until ... maybe tomorrow night?
The Carbon Monoxide sensors in the city used by a few services malfunctioned today and were showing lethal levels, which was scary. If you checked air quality it was showing ... we all gunna die. I was just sitting here telling myself it was a malfunction and not to worry. (The numbers in the above screencap are correct, tho)
I am pretty lucky. I can stay in. I am living off of buttered noodles with salt and nutritional yeast. I also still have some pistachios, about 1/2 a cup of chocolate chips, a packet of tuna and many packets of powdered broth. I also have a jar of pumpkin salsa, but no tortilla chips. I can hold out until the rain. I don't need to breathe outside air right now.
People are stressed. There is no place for us to go. Trying to get anywhere means driving in this and getting a lot more exposure, or flying with Covid still going on. The whole just waiting here as it gets worse and people feel sicker is just ... it's an interesting experience. I've seen people having the whole 'I want to leave but there is no where to go' conversation over and over. This is the evacuation place, there is where everyone came to. Our convention center marked with a green cross on the map is filled with evacuees.
As you may have heard, there are rampant rumors that this is all caused by Antifa. Not climate change, but Antifa arsonists.
This is Clackamas County, just south of Portland:
There is also a video of a deputy advising militia members to plant evidence if they shoot outsiders. He's been suspended with pay.
So, yeah, Portland has a very trapped and surrounded feel right now.
So, I am spending my evening watching a drag queen spend 3 hours getting into make up and then streaming Tell Me Why on Twitch, while I practice inking. Trying to not think about ... all that.
