As I've complained mentioned a few times, I had plans to go to Isle Royale last fall. A fairly complicated trip to book as only one ferry will be running when I want to go. There are a lot of logistical details to this trip and I'd planned to leave from PDX and make some stops on the Empire Builder along the way.
Reservations are starting to open for Isle Royale for 2021 and I still want to do that Empire Builder route. I had plans to compare two different funeral-homes-turned-into-bars since it turns out Michigan has one, too. I'd gotten really excited about some of the fairly obscure things I wanted to do along the way. And it looks like it's time to start planning and deciding if I want to go to either Seattle or Portland to start my trip.
I want to wind up in the middle of Lake Superior right at the end of it's season. A fairly harsh time to visit, with a possibility that the last ferry will end service before I go. I'll need to plan things like food carefully as well.
It's weird to be going through my trip planning folder again. So many hikes I'd planned to do this year. 2020 kicked off with a cancelled trip because the bus line I needed got sold to a new company that decided to not run over the holidays. Mosier and Twin Tunnels, I will do them someday!
Right now is too soon to go anywhere, but that should start to change this year. I am planning a trip to exotic Different Part Of Portland Metro so I can do my photography walks down there. I need to figure out when is reasonable.
